The majority of aches and pains are due to a mechanical injury of the musculoskeletal system. However in 1% of cases it can be caused by an underlying significant issue that can be more severe and requires further investigations.

As part of our master degree, the first two years of training are very similar than the training doctors have. We have a very good understanding of the human's body anatomy, neuroanatomy, biomechanics and pathologies which means we are trained to be able to pick up on signs and symptoms that indicate a serious underlying spinal pathology or health issue called red flags.

If we pick up on those symptoms we will then refer our patients accordingly

Have you stretched your back today?

Most of us spend most of our day either standing on our feet or sitting down which over a few hours puts pressure on your lower back. Also, let's not forget about Mr Gravity which pushes us towards the ground and increases pressure.

This simple stretch only takes 30 seconds and can help you ease lower back pain or even prevent build up of tension
